Join our team,
at many levels
Grotap Research is user-driven: the members bring the problems and the members bring the work. There is no single door and no single role — you can join as a high school student learning how AI technology and a business actually get built, or as an innovator bringing a problem out of your own industry. What you get out of it tracks what you put into it.
Two ways in
Different starting points, same room. Both work on real systems that real operations depend on.
High school students
Learn AI technology and business development by doing both. You sit in on how a problem gets scoped, watch AI agent teams plan and build against it, and take on pieces of the work yourself with someone experienced looking over your shoulder.
You will see the unglamorous half too — why a feature gets cut, why a simple answer beats a clever one, and what it costs a business when a tool does not work in the field.
What this isHands-on learning on live systems, with mentorship, in a working group of adults from four industries. You finish with real work you can point at and explain.
What this is notIt is not a job, an internship with pay, an accredited course, or a source of academic credit or college placement. We do not offer compensation, and we do not promise any of those things. It is learning by doing, and nothing more than that.
Innovators from any industry
For people running or building inside a business who are ready to collaborate to reduce the cost of innovation for business owners. You do not need to be in technology. You need a problem worth solving and the willingness to be honest about it in front of people who do not share your assumptions.
Bring a problem from your own industry, work alongside the agent fleet as it gets built, and take back what gets built. The tooling, the platform and the lessons are shared, so the second member to hit a problem never pays what the first one paid.
Good fitField operations, manufacturing and production, agriculture and land-based business, software and services — and anyone whose work looks nothing like those four.
How it startsOne conversation about what the problem costs you today. If the room can reframe it, it becomes a piece of work. See how the group works →
What you actually do here
Four things, whichever door you came in through.
Bring a real problem
Something from an actual operation, with an actual cost attached — not a hypothetical and not a feature request. The group is only as good as the problems put in front of it.
Work in the open with the agent fleet
Work is planned, dispatched to AI agent teams and shipped where everyone in the room can see it happen. You watch the plan, the build and the argument about scope, not just the finished screen.
Review and test what ships
Nothing goes live on somebody's say-so. Members read the changes, run them against a real operation and say plainly what broke. This is the part most people underestimate and the part that matters most.
Teach the machine
Every reviewed run writes a lesson the fleet reuses on the next one. Catching a mistake once and encoding it means the fleet does not make it again — so the time you spend reviewing compounds instead of evaporating.
What we ask
Short list, and we mean all of it.
Show up
Attendance is the whole membership requirement. A group of four industries only works if the four seats are actually filled, and a problem left half-described helps nobody.
Work in the open
Say what you tried, what it cost and what went wrong, where the rest of the room can read it. Quiet failures are the expensive kind — somebody else repeats them.
No confidential data from your employer without permission
Do not bring customer lists, pricing, contracts, credentials or anything under an agreement you have signed, unless you have clear permission to share it. Describe the shape of the problem instead; that is almost always enough.
Credit the room
Ideas here come from four industries at once, and almost nothing has a single author. When you use what the group built, say where it came from.
